TL;DR
- Research: I finally released VIHub, the visual inspection AI development and operation platform.
- Life: I managed to refresh by going out to the Grand Canyon and the Computer History Museum, and playing board games with friends.
0. Protests against Israel-Gaza War
- Across universities in the U.S., there is a growing movement protesting the war in Gaza. Stanford is no exception, with incidents like student disciplinary actions and the removal of tents supporting Palestine.
- Even among my Jewish friends, all three of them hold extremely critical views of the Israeli government. The U.S.'s support for Israel is being questioned more rigorously than ever.
- Meanwhile, there are opinions justifying Israel's actions, including some appalling statements, which seem to widen the divisions even further.
- I've realized the importance of being well-informed not only in my field of expertise but also on social issues, and being able to articulate my own opinions.

Finally released the DevOps Platform for Visual Inspection AI
As part of the 2404 release, we began offering the following features:
🚀Image Monitoring as a Service (IMaaS)
- Insightful dashboard
- Semantic Image Search
- Mislabel Detection
- Duplication Detection
🚀Digital Spec Catalog
- Easy to edit, share, refer
- Enhance clear spec definitions
Progress
- LLM: We upgraded from gpt-4-vision-preview to gpt-4-turbo, enhancing the accuracy of our generative AI.
- DB: Centered around the LabelClass Table, we added tables related to generative AI functionalities. (See below: ERD)
- Vector DB: At Next'24, an engineer from Pinecone introduced us to Serverless, and we successfully migrated from Pods, achieving cost reduction and faster processing.
Future Plan
- VIHub
- Enhancement of IMaaS (Inspection as a Service) features
- Implementation of MLOps (Machine Learning Operations) related functions
- Exploration of cutting-edge technologies and consideration of new SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions
Google Cloud Next'24
I attended Next, Google Cloud's annual event, to catch up on the latest trends. It lived up to my expectations from the perspective of Developer Experience.
I'm particularly interested in exploring the following releases more deeply.
- Vertex AI: Agent Builder
- Firestore: Vector Search
- Firebase Extensions: Gemini Multimodal
- CloudRun: Application Canvas
- BigQuery, AlloyDB: Natural Language Prompting
I plan to promptly integrate these into my own SaaS product.
Stanford CS Annual Affiliate Meeting
I attended the sessions on Robotics & Machine Learning on the second day and Relational Deep Learning on the afternoon of the third day. A highlight was the introduction of the Stanford Robotics Center, which is set to launch in November.
The center will be established next to the Gates Building, in the David Packard Building where I'm located. I'm looking forward to the research on various types of robots and the opening of the demonstration room. The head of the center is Oussama Khatib, known for his laboratory's underwater robot, OceanOne.
Normally, experiments are conducted in the Stanford Gym pool, but this time, a dedicated tank is being installed, which should improve the efficiency of the experiments.

I played a game called Truco, an Argentine game, at a friend's house.
ComputerHistoryMuseum
The IBM 1401 demo is a must-see. You can actually run programs written on punch cards.
Stanford Tour
Mr. Nakanishi from OFS is returning, so I showed him around Stanford.
US Tax Payment
It was troublesome, but thanks to the support from the OFS team, it was successfully completed.
Coffee Chat
🇨🇳Steven and Vickey, a couple from Sichuan Province in Chengdu, China, are returning home. We had our last chat at Stanford and promised to stay in touch.
Laoshi-Village Website Project
While working remotely with 🇨🇳Hainan Island, I have been advancing development. This month, I built an Event Calendar. Upcoming events include a painting class and a theater workshop.
I received the title of honorary citizen from the village chief and was invited to join a WeChat group.
